Bernard Woodworks crafts beautiful, functional, one-of-a-kind furniture designed to last for generations.

Founder of Bernard Woodworks, Zach Bernard started their woodworking journey as a child playing with scraps and shavings on the floor of their father’s shop. This fostered a passion for building, and through the following years Zach has built everything from musical instruments to kitchen cabinets. A professional artisan, Zach worked for several cabinet shops before striking out on their own to create a versatile business that works on projects ranging from individual pieces of fine furniture to tiny house kitchens to architectural woodworking designed to match
original craftsman homes.

At Bernard Woodworks, we believe that Fine Craft has a place among the Fine Arts, a tenet of the Arts and Crafts movement of the early 20th century and seen clearly in Japanese-style woodworking and the modern studio
furniture movement. Functional form is the intersection between art and work. We see furniture as a medium that gives us the opportunity to positively affect people’s daily lives through beautiful, exceptional functionality.  This is at the heart of what we do.

Bernard Woodworks is dedicated to using ethically-sourced materials. All wood is either Forest Stewardship Council certified or obtained from local urban salvage, and hardware is sourced from local craftspeople
or companies with responsible environmental and labor practices. Our tooling ranges from quality modern equipment to century-old machinery; we build furniture to last with tools that stand the test of time.
